Harvest of Hope Pantry
2022 Annual Report

2022 Annual Report

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are so pleased to share with you our 2022 annual report and the successes we have achieved in numerous categories of impact. The highlight of our year was moving into our new facility after a three-year capital campaign, the purchase and remodel of a building and a strong recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our ability to serve the Boulder community in 2022 was made possible by the generosity of each and every donor, volunteer and community partner. This continued support warms our hearts and provides food for thousands of families and individuals facing hunger.

2022 also marked the Pantry’s 10th anniversary, which we celebrated in September with a ribbon cutting event attended by Boulder’s Mayor, members of the city council, and nearly 100 volunteers and community supporters.

Facility Improvement

The Pantry’s new location on Pearl Street has been well-received. Volunteers have more space for food prep, better storage for our cold and frozen goods and an ample receiving area for food donations. Clients have a welcoming reception area where they can enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up with friends. The spacious shopping area and thoughtfully designed layout is more comfortable and accessible than ever before.

Rising to the Need

In October 2022, we asked donors to help us reach a goal of $100,000 as we projected a very busy winter season. With the outpouring of support, we reached this goal in a little over one month! In 2022 there were 14,138 shopping visits, and we distributed 312,668 pounds of food.

Community Building

Creating an atmosphere of non-judgmental support is a metric we don’t measure in people served or pounds of food. These improvements are reflected in the words and attitudes of our clients. Like Alex who says “It was a new experience for me (going to the food pantry), but the staff were friendly and compassionate, and I felt taken care of”.

Increased Food Drives

In 2022 we took a proactive role in cultivating and managing food drives to ensure we received abundant, nutritious food, throughout the year.

Volunteer Recognition

Volunteers are truly the backbone of the Pantry. With nearly 10,000 volunteer hours in 2022, we have introduced more ways to show our appreciation of their hard work.

We hope you will join us in celebrating our successes and the profound impact we make in the Boulder Community. You are the force for ensuring that we fulfill our mission: to provide healthy supplemental food to Boulder families and individuals in need of food assistance within a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment. It is an honor and a privilege to do this work and we thank you so much for your part!

With gratitude and appreciation,

Polly Buster
